Why it's yay:  Charlotte Simmons, the smartest girl from the sticks, goes to elite, super sexy, sports-obsessed Dupont college –drama ensues.  It’s smart and trashy and sucks you in completely.  

Novel Week - Shantaram

What it is:  Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts ($10)

Who it’s for:  People who travel, People who like epic stories,  People who aren't afraid of a challenge, People who like to read the book before the inevitable movie comes out.

Why it's yay:  It’s the mostly true story of an escaped Australian convict who fled to Bombay to start a new life there – fascinating, easy to read, and so compelling you forget how long it actually is (944 pages!!!)

I spent this past weekend traveling to and from my hometown of Akron, OH for my sister's bridal shower and bachelorette party - yay! I thought it would be fun to focus on some Travel Gifts this week. There are all kinds of reasons that people travel - destination weddings, honeymoons, visiting family, work, etc - if you are looking for a great gift idea for someone who is planning an upcoming trip or vacation, it might be fun to link the two together.
